About The Position
Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks an Iron Worker Foreman for a project in Hampton, GA. This role involves supervising and coordinating activities of work crews engaged in erecting structural steel, displaying crew leadership, and performing various ironwork tasks such as welding, bolting, and chipping. The foreman will interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders, enforce safety regulations, and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules. Responsibilities also include estimating worker-hour requirements, analyzing and resolving work problems, maintaining time records, and performing frequent safety inspections. Significant travel may be required.
Requirements
- Appropriate journeyman experience is required.
- Ironworker Journey level minimum of 4+ years of experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates activities of work crews engaged in erecting structural steel.
- Displays crew leadership.
- Supervise workers in performance of ironwork tasks, such as welding, bolting, and chipping, using portable power tools.
- Coordinates activities of assigned craft workers.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
- Interpret company policies to workers, and enforces safety regulations.
- Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
- Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job.
- Analyze and resolve work problems.
- Maintain time records.
- Evaluate information based on measurable standards.
- Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
- Perform frequent safety inspections of work area, equipment, tools, and employees in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Performs other duties as required.
