About The Position

Urologic Specialists of Northwest Indiana (USNI), a leading urology practice and member of Urology Alliance, is seeking an "IR Registered Nurse" to collaborate with us! This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated group committed to excellence at our newest center. Position anticipated to start Mid December/Early January. Requirements

RN license and certification as required by state.
BLS certification required, ACLS required.
Graduate of accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
Minimum one year Interventional Radiology experience strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Delivers exceptional patient service throughout all interactions.
Ability to build relationships with patients and display empathy and compassion to patients.
Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR.
Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Takes responsibility for own actions and is forthright about errors or uncertainty
Ability to handle stressful and constantly changing conditions.

Certified Radiology Nurse preferred

Responsibilities

Performs various activities necessary for the preparation of the patient and the procedure room for the radiology procedures in compliance with policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
Assists physician during procedures.
Completes patient assessment, monitoring for procedures and post-care.
Conducts patient education before test performs follow up when necessary.
Starts and maintains IV lines.
Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
Safely administer moderate sedation/medications ordered by clinicians.
Submit prescriptions and refills to pharmacies per licensed clinician orders.
Assist in the onboarding or cross training of team members.
Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
Prepares rooms, steriles instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained.
Communicates physician treatment plan including lab/imaging results to patients and documents appropriately within the EMR.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
