About The Position

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an Interventional Technician to join their OR! This position requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work well under pressure in high acuity situations. The technician will prepare, operate, and maintain X-Ray equipment, with a primary role in neuro-endovascular interventions and a complimentary role in cardiovascular interventions. The subject matter expert/clinical resource for these cases will be able to operate and troubleshoot equipment used in the Interventional OR, maintain and access X-ray equipment for routine maintenance and service needs, and compile test results utilizing hospital policy and procedures. The role also involves ensuring proper patient identification, preparing patients for procedures while maintaining privacy, producing quality diagnostic images, responding effectively in emergencies, communicating patient condition changes to the physician, acting as a patient advocate, prioritizing work assignments, and consulting with other departments professionally. The technician will also function as a scrub assist to physicians during interventional procedures, prepare patients by providing instructions, operate medical imaging equipment safely, and demonstrate awareness of Radiation Safety procedures.

Demonstrates understanding of safety, health and morale needs of customers/co-workers by taking steps to ensure those needs are met.
Prepares patient for procedures providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
Operates medical imaging equipment properly and safely.
Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety procedures.

Responsibilities
