Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • BLS level CPR Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Competent to use HLD equipment after proper training.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminates furniture and equipment with appropriate solutions.
  • Disposes of contaminated laundry, trash and suction canisters in appropriate containers.
  • Makes operating room bed, replaces canisters, tubing and trash container liners.
  • Opens sterile supplies for next case, as directed.
  • Assists RN and RT with positioning of patient, preps and proper placement of equipment.
  • Safely transports post anesthesia inpatients and outpatients.
  • Decontaminates scopes and equipment according to IR. Procedure.
  • Is competent to use HLD equipment after proper training.
  • Responds to "turnover" promptly or communicates inability to respond, and assists in transferring patient to and from operating room bed.
  • Completes errands out of department in a timely manner.
  • Returns contaminated equipment to Central Sterile for processing and picks up when ready.
  • Checks next case for needed supplies and obtains needed items for next cases.
  • Stocks operating rooms and replaces needed stock.
