About The Position

The IR/Cath Lab Tech works in the Cardiology unit at Nazareth Hospital, assisting physicians during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures. The role includes analyzing hemodynamics and EKGs, removing sheaths, and using sterile technique to prepare the laboratory. The technician prepares procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies; scrubs, circulates, or monitors cases according to role assignment and department needs; operates imaging and monitoring equipment; and helps prepare patients and provide post-procedure care. The position also involves monitoring and documenting patient and procedural information, maintaining radiation safety and infection-control standards, managing equipment and inventory, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with the procedural team. The schedule is a day shift, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Associate degree required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• ARRT and/or RCIS certification required.
• Previous IR and Cath Lab experience in a hospital setting required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and sterility.
• Scrub, circulate, or monitor cases in accordance with role assignment and department needs.
• Operate fluoroscopy, X-ray, and hemodynamic monitoring systems during procedures.
• Prepare contrast media, catheters, wires, and interventional devices.
• Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data during procedures and promptly report changes.
• Ensure proper radiation safety practices for patients, physicians, and staff.
• Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-control and safety standards.
• Accurately document procedural information in the electronic health record.
• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, post-procedure care, and transport.
• Clean, restock, and maintain procedural equipment and inventory.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations following department protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the procedural team.
• Analyze hemodynamics and EKGs and remove sheaths.
