About The Position

Fish & Richardson, a premier global intellectual property law firm, is seeking an IP Operations Assistant to join their Minneapolis team in the Practice Systems Department. This role involves performing a wide range of administrative and procedural duties related to system maintenance, matter opening, transfers, document processing, process review, client special procedures, audits, reports, and forms. The assistant will process requests for data and record updates in the IP system, assist with the matter opening process, maintain and manage a project log, and document new or revised procedures. They will also support the transfers process within Practice Systems, collaborate with managers and supervisors to resolve general operations issues, and participate in regular meetings. Billable projects may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 1 year professional office experience
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time restraints.
  • May adapt procedures, processes and techniques, within established guidelines, to meet requirements of the position, task or project.
  • Ability to use essential office equipment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to learn other computer applications with training provided necessary to the completion of tasks.
  • Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment and contribute to effective team relationships.
  • Ability to identify issues and refer them to management, often with proposed solutions.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a diverse group of attorneys, clients and staff, providing information with courtesy and professionalism, at all times observing confidentiality requirements.
  • Maintain attention to detail and the ability to occasionally work without supervision, sometimes requiring exercise of independent judgment.
  • Able to resolve routine questions and problems, referring complex issues to higher levels.
  • Ability to work 2 days per month in the Minneapolis office.

Responsibilities
