About The Position

Empire Fiber is seeking a hardworking and focused IP Engineer to support our IP Engineering projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our service provider network. This position requires on call nights, weekends, and holidays on rotation. Overtime as necessary to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Must be computer literate and have experience with digital telecommunications equipment, Internet Protocol, VOIP, Centrex, PBX, voice mail and DSLAMS carriers.
Demonstrated skill in managing multiple simultaneous activities.
Must have a Valid NYS Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and optimize IP/MPLS networks.
Maintain and configure SIP/VoIP infrastructure.
Manage multicast streaming and IGMP/PIM configurations.
Monitor network performance and resolve service issues.
Manage firewall policies and DDoS mitigation.
Maintain network documentation and change logs.
