About The Position

Innova Solutions is seeking an IP Engineer to provide Tier 3 support for IP backbone and customer routing issues. This role involves designing, engineering, and implementing scalable network solutions, collaborating with a team of network engineers, and acting as a technical escalation point for complex network incidents. The IP Engineer will also be responsible for developing and maintaining network documentation, creating training materials, and ensuring network designs meet reliability, performance, and security standards. Additionally, the role supports ongoing network optimization, upgrades, and architectural improvements, and participates in project execution and cross-team coordination.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Networking, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent 4 year degree)
8+ years of hands on network engineering experience with IP networks
6+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing IP and MPLS network architectures
Strong IP configuration and troubleshooting experience with protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, PIM, EIGRP, HSRP, VPLS, VRFs, L3VPN, and Ethernet
Experience creating IP addressing plans and network designs
Advanced technical documentation, presentation, and writing skills
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Ability to work in or support environments using Fujitsu network solutions
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Leadership capabilities with potential to grow into lead or senior roles
Expert level industry certifications preferred (e.g., CCIE)

Responsibilities

Provide Tier 3 (highest level) support for troubleshooting and resolving IP backbone and customer routing issues.
Design, engineer, and implement scalable network solutions to support customer needs and critical backbone architectures.
Support and collaborate with a team of 6–7 network engineers.
Act as a technical escalation point for complex network incidents and outages.
Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
Create training materials and provide knowledge transfer to engineering and NOC teams.
Ensure network designs meet reliability, performance, and security standards.
Support ongoing network optimization, upgrades, and architectural improvements.
Participate in project execution, planning, and cross team coordination as needed.
