About The Position

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an IP Docketing Specialist to join its Intellectual Property team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the firm's intellectual property practice by maintaining accurate docket records, monitoring deadlines, and ensuring the timely processing of intellectual property-related actions. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting patent, trademark, copyright, domain name, and IP litigation matters in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and will be committed to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of intellectual property docketing experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
Proficiency with the CPi docketing system and a strong understanding of intellectual property docketing processes.
Experience with patent and/or trademark docketing, with trademark docketing experience strongly preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
A commitment to maintaining accurate and comprehensive docket records.
Sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while managing a high-volume workload.

Responsibilities

Reviewing and triaging high-volume correspondence from clients, foreign counsel, and intellectual property offices.
Routing correspondence as appropriate.
Analyzing materials to docket new actions and update existing matters.
Maintaining accurate docket records.
Monitoring critical deadlines.
Reviewing docket reports.
Processing docket clearance and de-docketing requests.
Supporting file transfers and matter maintenance activities.
Working closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative professionals to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
Ensuring the accuracy of information within the firm's docketing system.
Supporting reporting, auditing, and data quality initiatives.
