About The Position

This is a contract role for an IoT-IT General Architect with a hybrid work arrangement in Greensboro, NC. The project duration is 6 months with the possibility of becoming a permanent position. The role involves designing and developing enterprise solutions integrating equipment data collection, sensors, machine learning/AI models, mobile applications, notifications, and integrations, particularly for predictive maintenance. The architect will also lead portfolio reviews, mentor client team members, and contribute to various project deliverables.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in IT, systems integration, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture
• At least 5 years of experience working specifically within manufacturing or industrial automation environments
• Experience working as a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect designing manufacturing technology solutions
• Experience designing solutions involving shop-floor/OT technologies such as MES, SCADA, PLCs, HMI, DCS, or industrial networking
• Developed & deployed Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Enterprise solutions integrating Equipment Data collection / Sensors (Heat, Vibration, Cycle times), Machine Learning / AI models, Mobile application, notifications, and integrations.

Nice To Haves

• TOGAF, ArchiMate, or other architecture frameworks certifications
• Certifications in MES or ERP platforms (e.g., SAP PP/ME, Rockwell, Siemens)
• PMP or Agile project management certifications
• Specific AWS or Azure Solution Architecture Certifications
• Hands-on Application Development experience

Responsibilities

• Lead regular reviews of the portfolio(s) to identify opportunities for improvement in the areas of stability, performance, and complexity reduction
• Mentor and Knowledge transfer to client project team members
• Participate as primary, co and/or contributing author on any and all project deliverables associated with their assigned areas of responsibility
• Participate in data conversion and data maintenance
• Provide best practice and industry specific solutions
• Advise on and provide alternative (out of the box) solutions
• Provide thought leadership as well as hands on technical configuration/development as needed
• Participate as a team member of the functional team
• Perform other duties as assigned
