iOS Team Lead - Onsite - NYC (Contractor)
About The Position
Lab49 is seeking an iOS Team Lead to play a critical role on key projects for their clients. This role involves working in a collaborative and innovative project team with direct client-facing interactions, applying skills to design innovative applications that solve complex problems and enhance performance and productivity. The focus will be on building and modernizing large-scale consumer banking experiences, including customer onboarding, account management, and money movement. As part of a greenfield initiative, the Team Lead will lead the development of new mobile capabilities to support market expansion and evolving regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 10-12+ years of experience designing and building complex, commercial-grade software systems, with 4+ years leading Agile teams
- Proficiency in Swift and experience with native iOS development tools such as SwiftUI, and UIKit
- Experience in consumer banking including account management and onboarding.
- Familiarity with integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for mobile applications
- Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices to create intuitive and engaging user experiences
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience in fraud management/KYC/AML and regulatory reporting
- Experience using on device biometrics for authentication
- A strong portfolio of released applications on the App Store
- Experience with AppConfig community standards and enterprise app distribution
- College degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent experience
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Claude Code, Copilot) to improve team velocity and code quality, and help the team adopt them responsibly

- Design, implement, deliver, and test innovative iOS Swift applications while understanding our products from both a technical and product perspective in the context of our client’s business.
- Communicate with leadership, product owners, other technologists and users to create working software based on an understanding of business and technical priorities.
- Break down complex problems into elegant technical solutions to intelligently solve problems for Lab49's clients.
- Actively contribute to the adoption of strong software architecture, development best practices and new technologies.
- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends.
- Experiment with and learn new technologies.
