About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join its team in Slidell, Louisiana. The phlebotomist may work in a Patient Service Center or a client office, providing customer service and performing specimen collections as a representative of the company. The role offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch and rotating Saturdays. Travel to additional sites may be needed. The position requires full COVID-19 vaccination, subject to applicable law and medical or religious accommodations. Phlebotomists may be eligible for a quarterly performance-based bonus through the PST Incentive Plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least three months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• If substituting certification or training for work experience, the credential or program must be from an accredited agency.
• Demonstrated record of exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable law and medical or religious accommodations.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as needed.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
