About The Position

The University of Wisconsin–Platteville is seeking applications for an Involvement Coordinator – Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) and Leadership! This position coordinates and supports key programs and initiatives within the Markee Pioneer Student Center, including Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL), Leadership Awards, and the Pioneer Involvement Center. The Involvement Coordinator serves as a liaison between Fraternity and Sorority Life, student organizations, campus departments, and other university partners while promoting compliance with university policies, procedures, and risk management protocols. This role also utilizes technology resources, social media platforms, and software applications to enhance student engagement and program operations and supports student participation in major policy and decision-making processes in accordance with Chapter 36.09(5) of the Wisconsin State Statutes. This position supports the mission and goals of the Markee Pioneer Student Center, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and the University of Wisconsin System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum one year experience in student affairs or Greek life.
  • Strong administrative skills, including high proficiency with MS Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret policies.

Responsibilities

  • Advise FSL governance organizations.
  • Supervise all FSL programs.
  • Develop and implement FSL Policy.
  • Administer the FSL Achievement Certification Program.
  • Coordinate FSL recruitment and new member education initiatives.
  • Consult with and provide coaching to FSL chapters.
  • Act as a liaison between the university and FSL chapter headquarters offices.
  • Administer FSL judicial procedures.
  • Coordinate risk management and compliance initiatives for the FSL community.
  • Lead the FSL support team.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and expenditures.
  • Provide guidance and best use practices for connecting student involvement experiences with learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Awards Team.
  • Assist in the coordination of nomination and judging processes and the Leadership Awards Ceremony.
  • Assist in the management of the Pioneer Involvement Center (PIC), including: Student Organization management and compliance, PioneerLink management, University-wide leadership programming, Management of the PIC spaces and student employees.
  • Support a collaborative and comprehensive student development program including student activities, student leadership development, FSL, shared student governance and campus wide student programming.
  • Advise student governance and other student organizations assigned.
  • Assist with coordinating and planning major Markee Pioneer Student Center and university events such as Welcome Weekend, Homecoming, etc.
  • Provide guidance and advisement to student groups and student leaders regarding the planning and development of programs furthering the university’s mission.
  • Be knowledgeable of risk management practices (safety and liability issues) related to programming; work with the campus risk management officer to ensure campus policies related to safety are created as well as enforced.
  • Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as it relates to the Campus Safety Act (Clery Act).
  • Participate in assessment initiatives to provide best practices and services to students.
  • Involves regular work expectations outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Support other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations, including necessary training and drills.
