About The Position

Bain Capital, LP is a leading private multi-asset alternative investment firm with over $225 billion in assets under management. The Investor Relations team, comprising approximately 125 professionals across multiple global offices, is responsible for business development, client service, diligence, marketing, fundraising, and reporting. The Strategic Capital Group (SCG), launched in 2023 within the Investor Relations team, focuses on non-fund LP capital formation activities, including LP coinvestments, GP-led secondaries, minority sales, and liquidity solutions. SCG aims to deepen relationships with direct investment and secondary professionals and engage with Bain Capital investment teams on alternative capital solutions. This is a lean, nimble, and entrepreneurial team. We are seeking a motivated Analyst to contribute to the SCG team's daily operations, investor support, and strategic initiatives. The Analyst will be crucial in supporting investor tracking in Salesforce CRM, preparing data analyses and presentations, coordinating meetings, and managing data across systems. This role requires developing expertise in Salesforce, tracking investor feedback, reconciling data, and identifying/resolving data inconsistencies. The Analyst will also leverage Excel, AI, and automation tools for data analysis and efficiency improvements. Additionally, the role involves supporting investor analysis, fund diligence, implementing process improvements, and contributing to ad hoc projects. Collaboration with cross-functional teams like Legal, Finance, Compliance, and IT is expected. The ideal candidate is results-oriented, can work independently under pressure, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and is a flexible resource for the team. This is a two-year position with potential for extension based on performance and team growth.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of professional working experience, including relevant internships, preferably in investor relations, private equity, or financial services.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate quantitative and qualitative concepts.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus; the role will require developing strong proficiency over time.
  • Strong executive function, with ability to drive a process to completion and effectively prioritize competing objectives and urgent deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and confidently.

Responsibilities

  • Support investor tracking in Salesforce CRM, including creating contact records and logging investor interactions.
  • Draft and prepare data analyses and presentations for investor engagements and internal discussions.
  • Coordinate select call scheduling, tracking, meeting agenda preparation, and deliverable updates.
  • Develop deep expertise in Salesforce CRM; serve as the team’s primary resource, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Track investor feedback and build, maintain, and enhance investor profiles.
  • Partner closely with operations teams to reconcile and validate data across systems.
  • Identify patterns, inconsistencies, and gaps in data and proactively drive issues to resolution.
  • Liaise with IT to improve reporting capabilities, dashboards, and data integrity.
  • Leverage Excel (including advanced functions/macros where applicable) to manage and analyze data.
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to derive insights from proprietary data and improve team efficiency.
  • Support broader investor related initiatives, including investor analysis and fund-related diligence.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and scalability.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects across the team, supporting strategic priorities as they arise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Compliance, IR Diligence, and IR Operations.
  • Operate effectively in a high-performance, senior-facing environment.
