About The Position

CIBC’s Private Wealth Investment Strategy Group (ISG) supports our Wood Gundy Wealth-Advisory teams in a variety of ways. This includes management of proprietary equity and balanced portfolios, hosting calls, and contributing to reports on financial market themes. Your primary role as a summer Co-op student will be to contribute to our publication and portfolio update processes, with project-related opportunities to further expand into areas such as equity research. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies.
  • Ability to apply academic knowledge to develop solutions.
  • Ability to draw insights and conclusions from qualitative data, applying structure to complicated concepts.
  • Ability to take complex concepts and present them in easy to understand written and graphical formats, utilizing spreadsheets, presentation software and web tools.
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance from management and also in a dynamic team environment.
  • Engage with team members and business partners to achieve common goals.
  • Able to work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop a deeper understanding of the bank’s processes.
