The Investment Professional – Private Equity Deal Analyst role is responsible for supporting the management of Nationwide Investment’s Private Equity Investments portfolios in collaboration with the Alternative Investments team members. This position will perform all aspects of the Private Equity Investments platform, including but not limited to, sourcing and underwriting investment opportunities, portfolio monitoring, reporting, forecasting and communications, analytics and modeling, and supporting/leading special projects. Leads (directly or indirectly) building innovative solutions, projects, or initiatives using complex-problem solving techniques paired with domain expertise. Impacts department and sometimes functional management. As part of the Nationwide Alternatives Platform this individual will also have exposure and opportunity to work with members of Nationwide’s Liquid Alternatives team as well. This role may include people leader responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or CFA preferred
  • Six to ten years of related investment experience
  • Build constructive and effective internal and external relationships.

  • Experience with Alternative Investments, specifically Private Equity, expected/required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for evaluation, assessment and management of managers/funds.
  • Evaluates and recommends alternatives investment opportunities.
  • Performs in-depth manager / fund reviews with base case and downside analysis.
  • Prepares materials and participates in the review of legal documentation with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Performs the necessary research for early identification of emerging issues or risks with managers/funds within the portfolio.
  • Develops an investment pipeline handling incoming inquiries, and sourcing opportunities independently in the marketplace.
  • Manages relationships with current and prospective investment managers as well as with service providers.
  • Prepares materials for and participates in landscaping and pipeline meetings.
  • Utilizes financial and statistical models to drive underwriting, monitoring and portfolio management processes.
  • Suggests model enhancements and develops/supports the development of new models as necessary.
  • May Perform other duties as assigned.
