The Investment Operations Analyst will perform standard and moderately complex recurring procedures, analysis, and report preparation to support the lifecycle of investments in a global infrastructure. This includes identifying and resolving problems following established guidelines, conducting special analyses, and supporting global investment initiatives through participation in projects, process reviews, and system improvements. Responsibilities include account reconciliation, reporting, transaction management, portfolio analysis, compliance, data, and/or trade support activities. The analyst will establish new securities, compliance rules, new accounts, and/or new reports to ensure readiness for trading, reconciliation, settlement, and/or client reporting. They will also identify and resolve issues related to client data, trade breaks, reconciliation breaks, and/or compliance breaches, and prepare reports and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies and clients' needs. Collaboration with internal and external personnel, including senior operations staff, legal, relationship management, IT, banks, brokers, custodians, portfolio managers, and/or traders is expected. The role also involves improving awareness of the company's products, team procedures, and clients' needs through proactive research, training, and participation in ongoing investment activities. Other job-related duties or special projects may be required.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, economics, or business is required.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, time management, and communication skills required.
  • Must pay close attention to details.
  • Success in this position requires a client service focus, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and the ability to produce accurate and timely information with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to balance multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and be flexible as business needs change.
  • This position requires passing a criminal background check.
  • Adherence to an Investment Code of Ethics concerning personal and business behavior and trading activities for you and your household members.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with 0-2 years of background in investment or mutual fund operations or a related area are preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial services and investment-related terminology is preferred.
  • Proficiency in investment software and tools.
  • Experience with portfolio management systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including macros and VBA.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in investment or mutual fund operations, or a related area, is preferred (for Associate, Investment Operations role).

Responsibilities

  • Improve awareness of Principal Global Investors' products, team procedures, and clients' needs through proactive research, attendance in available training programs, and active participation in ongoing investment activities.
