About The Position

Join the Summer 2027 Investment Intern team at Missouri’s largest defined benefit pension plan, where you’ll play a meaningful role in supporting a high-performing institutional investment program that serves educators across the state. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to work that strengthens the long-term financial security of Missouri’s public education employees while gaining exposure to multiple asset classes and the daily operations of a world-class investment department. We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented students who are ready to learn, take initiative, and collaborate with our Chief Financial Officer and Investment Staff on a wide range of analytical projects, operational tasks, and investment research.

Requirements

  • Student entering or enrolled in college pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
  • Strong desire to earn the Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) is preferred.
  • Intellectual curiosity, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to build positive relationships across the department.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of finance and investment concepts.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis methods.
  • Ability to support key administrative processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with databases is also beneficial.

  • Support a range of analytical and operational activities, including investment research, data analysis, reporting, and special projects.
  • Prepare clear reports and presentations.
  • Maintain organized physical and electronic files.
  • Use standard business software proficiently, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Support the technical aspects of the position using databases.
