About The Position

Marsh is seeking an Investment Data Solutions Lead for its Data Solutions team within the people and investments business. The team sits within Operations and is responsible for data strategy, workflow design, and vision for Mercer IS, ensuring initiatives align with business objectives and data governance principles. The role collaborates with stakeholders across Performance, Portfolio Management, Operations, Compliance, and Technology, and partners closely with Performance and Benchmark teams, platform providers, and technology teams to deliver tailored solutions. It combines oversight and leadership with hands-on delivery. The role is based in Boston and follows a hybrid work arrangement requiring at least three days per week in the office or onsite with clients.

The position leads the execution of data strategy, develops and sequences a roadmap for performance and benchmark capabilities, and coordinates programs that improve operational and reporting practices. It also identifies opportunities for data and workflow innovation, supports continuous improvement, and promotes technology and AI tools as part of the strategic backlog.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the asset management industry.
• Exposure to investment data ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience with investment accounting, benchmark, and performance data workflows.
• Strong communication skills to convey data concepts and business outcomes and build relationships with key business partners.
• Ability to work under pressure and balance competing priorities while maintaining a results-oriented focus.
• Enthusiasm for solving problems through data, technology, and connecting the dots.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of the data strategy by rolling out solutions that adhere to data governance, management, and quality principles and meet evolving performance-team and stakeholder needs.
• Partner with data-team peers and performance and benchmark stakeholders to develop solutions for the flow and governance of critical performance and performance-related data across the firm.
• Work with Performance and Program leadership to create a roadmap for performance and benchmark solutions capabilities and orchestrate programs that transform operational and reporting practices.
• Prioritize and sequence roadmap activities with business and technology colleagues, delivering immediate value while building long-term capabilities.
• Manage data analyst team capacity and balance workload hands-on.
• Collaborate with business and technology colleagues to identify data and workflow innovation opportunities that advance the data strategy.
• Promote a tech-first environment, continuous improvement, and use of the AI toolkit, incorporating these priorities into the strategic backlog for data-related changes.
• Collaborate with business partners to develop innovative solutions and design ideas that address evolving investment-business needs.
• Contribute to strategic visions and roadmaps for business change and influence direct and dotted-line teams toward common goals.
