About The Position

GE Vernova is hiring an intern to support investment-casting manufacturing processes and related engineering improvement work. The intern will work with process owners, production operators, and cross-functional teams to monitor and improve process performance, quality, safety, delivery, cost, and capability. Work includes analyzing production and quality data, developing process controls and technical documentation, supporting tooling and automation projects, and conducting supervised engineering trials. This internship is for a student currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's program in a relevant technical field. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, and any applicable offer will depend on obtaining required U.S. Government authorization. The pay range is $1,000–$2,000 USD weekly. U.S. internship roles are ineligible for GE Vernova benefits. Relocation assistance is not provided.

  • Familiarity with root-cause analysis, Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or structured problem solving.
  • A hands-on mindset and interest in learning directly from production operators and equipment.
  • Strong organization, curiosity, initiative, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support process owners in monitoring, documenting, and improving investment-casting processes and critical process parameters.
  • Analyze process data, quality results, and production trends to identify variation, recurring defects, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and update process-control plans, standard work, visual controls, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Help define defect-prevention methods, in-process checks, reaction plans, and error-proofing solutions using Built-in Quality principles.
  • Create or revise CAD models and drawings for tooling, fixtures, gauges, robot end-of-arm tooling, and other manufacturing aids.
  • Assist with robotics and automation projects, including concept development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and safe implementation.
  • Plan and execute supervised engineering trials, collect results, and communicate recommendations based on data and shop-floor observations.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action activities using structured problem-solving tools.
  • Collaborate with operators and cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and process capability.
