About The Position

Piper Sandler is seeking an Investment Banking Vice President to join their Upstream team in the Houston, TX office. This role is for a professional with genuine potential and interest for advancement within the firm, requiring strong leadership, business writing, accounting, M&A deal modeling, and client management skills. A deep understanding of the oil and gas industry is also essential. The investment banking group partners with corporate clients and financial sponsors to provide advisory and financing services across various areas including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets, private placements, restructuring, and corporate & venture services. Piper Sandler has in-depth knowledge and industry relationships in core sectors such as chemicals, consumer, diversified industrials & services, energy & power, financial services, healthcare, and technology.

Requirements

5+ years of investment banking experience or MBA degree and 3+ years of investment banking or closely related experience
Meaningful M&A transaction experience required
Business writing skills
Strong knowledge of accounting and M&A deal modeling experience
Client management skills
Exceptional work ethic and a high level of enthusiasm, initiative and leadership potential
Deep understanding and relevant oil and gas experience

Nice To Haves

MBA degree is preferred
Bachelors in finance, business, management plus other related degrees

Responsibilities

Lead junior bankers throughout a transaction, including reviewing work, setting expectations, and providing constructive feedback.
Write compelling selling memorandums and presentations.
Manage client relationships and establish trust with internal and external stakeholders.
