About The Position

BTIG is seeking an investment banking professional to join its Biopharma Investment Banking team in New York. Associates participate in BTIG’s investment banking activities, including private and public offerings, M&A transactions, and other advisory services. The role provides day-to-day support to senior bankers and clients, contributes to deal execution, and offers professional guidance to junior team members.

The position combines an entrepreneurial platform focused on growth companies with the analytical rigor and transaction experience of bulge-bracket investment banks. The Associate supports live deals and pitches across equity capital markets, M&A, and advisory work, and conducts financial analysis, research, due diligence, and client-facing transaction work.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in an investment banking biopharma vertical at a bulge-bracket or middle-market investment bank.
• Experience working on successful equity capital markets transactions, as well as M&A and strategic advisory assignments.
• Strong understanding of biopharma business models, therapeutic areas, and drug development and regulatory timelines.
• Strong analytical, financial, and valuation-modeling skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
• Superior attention to detail.
• Commitment to mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build internal and client-facing relationships.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• SIE, Series 63, and Series 79 licenses are required.

Nice To Haves

• BA, BS, or MS in a life sciences-related field preferred; applicants with advanced life sciences degrees such as PharmD, MD, or PhD will be prioritized.
• Experience with banking-related databases and applications such as Bloomberg, CapIQ, and PitchBook.

Responsibilities

• Provide transaction support to senior bankers on live deals and pitches, including IPOs, follow-ons, PIPEs, private placements, and M&A transactions.
• Build detailed financial models and valuation analyses, including DCF and public company comparables.
• Prepare client presentations, offering memoranda, and other transaction materials.
• Conduct due diligence and research on companies, pipeline assets, and therapeutic areas.
• Monitor public market activity and key trends affecting the biopharma sector.
• Interact directly with clients and investors during due diligence, transaction marketing, and execution.
• Provide professional guidance to junior team members.
