The Sr. Investment Associate supports Portfolio Managers in delivering investment management solutions and maintaining high-quality client service. This role contributes to portfolio oversight, investment implementation, client reporting, and fiduciary review processes while working closely with investment professionals and internal partners.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in investment management, wealth management, trust, or financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute beyond portfolio administration and execution, including participation in portfolio strategy discussions, client communications, and relationship management.
  • Strong investment acumen across asset allocation, portfolio construction, performance analysis, and wealth management concepts.
  • Ability to communicate investment recommendations, portfolio positioning, and market developments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to evaluate both quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Proficiency with investment, reporting, and research platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, and other tools.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Collaborative working style and ability to build strong relationships across multiple disciplines and business functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • Experience participating in client meetings, presenting investment recommendations, and supporting the management of client relationships preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular account reviews with Portfolio Managers and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Monitor portfolios for allocation drift, cash balances, risk exposures, concentrated positions.
  • Support rebalancing, cash deployment, withdrawals, policy changes, portfolio maintenance.
  • Prepare recommended trades for Portfolio Manager review and strategy implementation.
  • Prepare portfolio analytics, performance reports, attribution analysis, and presentation materials.
  • Support Investment Policy Statement maintenance across firm systems.
  • Participate in client meetings, contributing portfolio updates and investment recommendations.
  • Manage or co-manage smaller accounts under Portfolio Manager supervision.
  • Interpret performance, market developments, and allocation decisions for client communications.
  • Monitor portfolios for policy consistency, allocation targets, and model expectations.
  • Document portfolio review items, exceptions, client-directed positions, and concentration reviews.
  • Maintain documentation standards supporting regulatory, compliance, and internal control requirements.
  • Support portfolio strategy through surveillance, investment analysis, and market monitoring.
  • Develop understanding of asset allocation views and portfolio construction methodology.
  • Assist Portfolio Managers with agendas, correspondence, and investment reviews and respond to client inquiries.
  • Coordinate with partners on performance measurement, benchmarks, and composite reporting.
  • Articulate investment strategy, portfolio positioning, and firm viewpoints.
  • Assist with security analysis, manager research, reviews, and investment projects.
