About The Position

Napier Park Real Assets (“Real Assets”) is a private equity strategy that invests in transportation and renewable energy assets and businesses in partnership with operators and management teams. The Real Assets team manages approximately $1.7B of capital across 5 funds, investing across leased freight railcars in North America, commercial aircraft globally and renewable energy projects (solar & battery) in the UK. The Real Assets team is actively raising capital for its $1+ billion evergreen rail leasing fund, as well as another geographically specific leasing mandate that spans multiple asset types. This role represents an exciting opportunity to participate in a growing business and focus on a wide variety of investment, financing and capital raising activities. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly experienced group of investors in an entrepreneurial setting with significant upward mobility. Responsibilities will be broad and will include assisting in all aspects of firm business.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in investing, consulting, banking, or corporate development
  • Interest in transportation, renewable energy and / or financial services (prior experience a plus, but not a requirement)
  • A strong track record of academic and professional accomplishment
  • Entrepreneurial drive and maturity, including initiative and ability to multi-task, prioritize and independently manage time and deadlines all with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, financial and accounting skills, including mastery of financial modelling
  • Outstanding communication / interpersonal skills (both oral and written) and ability to interact with sophisticated counterparties

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the senior team in analyzing new investment opportunities (both through existing and new origination channels), including participating in / leading due diligence, financial modeling and related analyses, preparing presentations, industry research, investment structuring, etc.
  • Working with partner management teams to monitor existing investments, formulate strategic priorities, manage financial /operational reporting, execute financings, divestitures, exits, and other strategic initiatives
  • Support the team’s equity fundraising efforts with existing / potential LPs
  • Supporting the team’s origination efforts, including developing investment themes and conducting research on industries / potential investment targets
