About The Position

The Investment and Legacy Advisor plays a pivotal role in building deep, trusted relationships with our members by providing personalized investment and estate planning solutions. This role is primarily focused on the management and expansion of our segregated fund’s portfolio, while also helping members consolidate their assets under the reliable and trusted umbrella of Coast Capital. You’ll be responsible for delivering tailored, tax-efficient investment strategies, monitoring and rebalancing portfolios, and ensuring full regulatory compliance. This role also involves evaluating clients’ financial goals and risk tolerance, and proactively adapting financial strategies as life circumstances change. This position is more than just portfolio management, it’s about helping our members feel confident about their financial futures and supporting them with a clear, strategic approach to investment and legacy planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in a related role, with 7–9 years of direct financial services sales experience, including at least 5 years in insurance and estate planning.
  • High school diploma plus completion of a Certificate Program (equivalent to one full year or 10 courses); a university degree is considered an asset.
  • LLQP (Life License Qualification Program) certification is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated success in managing segregated fund portfolios and developing tax-efficient investment strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulatory compliance requirements specific to segregated funds.
  • Solid understanding of estate planning principles as they relate to investment and insurance products.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging financial presentations and lead educational client sessions.
  • Skilled in using CRM systems and other digital financial tools.
  • Proficiency in the full consultative sales process with a strong focus on results.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations are highly advantageous.

  • Maintain strict compliance with all regulatory requirements related to segregated funds and insurance-based investments.
  • Deliver educational seminars to clients on the value of segregated funds and estate planning.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to provide a seamless member experience.
  • Refer members to other internal specialists as needed when their needs extend beyond your scope.
  • Contribute to a strong team culture by sharing knowledge, working collaboratively, and fostering a positive and professional environment.
  • Proactively participate in professional development, maintaining all required licenses and CE credits.
