About The Position

We are seeking an Investment Analyst to join PGIM’s Chicago-based private credit regional investment team, which invests across traditional private placements, direct lending, and mezzanine capital in the Midwest. As an Analyst, you will play a key role throughout the investment lifecycle, supporting new investment opportunities through underwriting, due diligence, investment evaluation, and execution, while gaining exposure to a broad range of companies, industries, and transaction structures. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain direct buy-side experience with meaningful exposure to the investment committee and senior investment professionals, and a strong foundation for a career in private credit investing with one the largest investors in the private capital markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong record of academic achievement
  • 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, direct lending, or mezzanine investing
  • Recent graduates with relevant internships will be considered
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively in a team environment, and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and credit fundamentals
  • Excellent analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to private credit investing, including investment execution or ongoing portfolio oversight
  • Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts ® (CFA) program

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive underwriting and financial modeling, including credit analysis, company research, and comparable analysis to assess risk, return, and capital structure positioning
  • Prepare investment committee materials and support presentations, gaining direct exposure to senior leadership and the decision-making process
  • Coordinate transaction execution by working with internal stakeholders and external advisors to organize diligence materials, manage process timelines, and support closing activities
  • Monitor an active portfolio of private credit investments, including financial performance, liquidity, and key credit metrics
  • Assist with quarterly valuations, portfolio reviews, and ongoing portfolio management initiatives
  • Occasionally support fund and investor activities, including preparation of portfolio updates, fundraising materials, and marketing content
