About The Position

The Investment Analyst position is primarily responsible for contributing to a collaborative investment process within Old National Bank’s high net worth and institutional investment advisory business. The role involves research and analysis related to the portfolio construction process, which is multi-faceted, and will include: assessing third party asset managers and their investment strategies, supporting the decision-making process related to short- and long-term asset allocation, and applying risk management analytics across all levels of client portfolios. Candidates who are qualified for this role will have prior investment research experience, will possess a thorough understanding of multi-asset portfolio management, and will bring solid quantitative skills along with experience with related tools and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or another related field.
  • 2-5 years’ experience related to investment analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel required.
  • Prior investment research experience.
  • Thorough understanding of multi-asset portfolio management.
  • Solid quantitative skills.
  • Experience with related tools and techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with any investment research databases (Morningstar, FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.) preferred.
  • CFA designation/progress toward designation favorably considered.
  • Desire to learn new ideas/skills/techniques.
  • Manages time well, meets deadlines.
  • Proactive in overcoming obstacles when completing tasks/projects.
  • Strong presentation skills (building slides and presenting content).
  • Appreciation for aesthetic details/delivering high-quality, “polished” work.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering, organizing, analyzing, and inference-making of data.
  • Utilizing various systems to find, extract, and analyze data.
  • Integrating Artificial Intelligence into the research process where appropriate.
  • Interpreting results of analyses to make inferences and summarize conclusions.
  • Making recommendations on how the data ought to influence decision making.
  • Ownership of quantitative tools, including building and/or maintaining them.
  • Managing the process of converting raw data into outputs that serve as inputs to key decisions related to manager selection, asset allocation, and risk management.
  • Generating output and sharing results/conclusions with internal team(s).
  • Building presentations that are effective in articulating the “why/how/what” of the tools and techniques employed by the portfolio construction team.
  • Effectively using visuals – charts, tables, graphics, etc. – in educational materials for clients and colleagues.
  • Organizing a “library” of data, tools, information, and deliverables.
  • Maintaining a logical system for keeping relevant files organized and accessible.
  • Occasionally taking notes and keeping records of internal team meetings/discussions as well as meetings with external asset managers and other vendors/partners/stakeholders.
