About The Position

Mackenzie Investments is seeking a Quantitative Investment Analyst for its fast-growing Global Quantitative Equity boutique in Boston, MA. This team manages $30 billion in AUM and employs a bottom-up, fundamental quantitative approach with efficient trade execution to generate alpha. The team comprises experienced professionals and recent graduates, implementing traditional and alternative strategies in global and emerging markets. The Investment Analyst will be responsible for building and maintaining portfolio management processes and analytics, developing and enhancing systems for alpha modeling, portfolio construction, and monitoring, and integrating human judgment with systematic and automated processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative discipline (Advanced degree welcome).
  • 0 – 3 years of quantitative equity experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of programming (Python).
  • Database knowledge (SQL).
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Factset, Axioma.
  • A “can do” attitude as part of an entrepreneurial group within an established firm.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create robust quantitative tools and infrastructure used to construct and monitor portfolios in conjunction with Portfolio Managers and Analysts.
  • Support day-to-day portfolio management activities.
  • Assist in the development of stock selection models for Emerging Markets, Global, International, and US portfolios.
  • Present analysis and investment ideas to Portfolio Managers.
  • Monitor research and events in the quantitative investment field to gain insights that can enhance portfolio returns and risk.
  • Understand global macroeconomics and global financial markets to generate insights for improving risk-adjusted returns of portfolios.
