About The Position

The Investment Analyst Intern works with the Development and Capital teams to support departmental activities assigned including market and demographic research, presentation materials, due diligence, initial Proformas, RFP reviews and Buckingham Fund documentation. Our Internship Program provides hands-on experience in inclusive and creative environments around the nation.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a college degree in Finance or Commercial Real Estate.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable private transportation.
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA or above.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Market Research Software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the team to source, analyze, assess, prepare presentation and gain IC One approval for prospective development opportunities.
  • Prepare comprehensive presentation materials, as assigned, that include exhibits of development merits, demographic analysis, market analysis and competitive product evaluation suitable for approval by supervisors.
  • Conduct market research, as assigned, for new developments, potential acquisitions, and projects under construction.
  • Provide research, analysis and reporting for asset management for projects assigned
  • Develop initial Proformas for new development opportunities to include conceptual financial analysis, feasibility and modeling.
  • Effectively collaborate with in-house property management leadership to evaluate achievable rental levels, expense comparable and expense estimates for development opportunities being considered.
  • Become knowledgeable with costs associated with development, including physical construction costs, site development costs, pre-development costs and estimates through collaboration with Develop Manager and Preconstruction estimate submittals.
  • Research, analyze, and make recommendations as needed regarding real estate development projects, acquisitions, dispositions on projects assigned.
  • Prepare documentation for closing of various transactions including closings for development, acquisitions and dispositions when requested.
  • Prepare financing packages for development and acquisition opportunities as well as the Buckingham Fund opportunities.
  • Analyze RFP’s for opportunity, feasibility and market research.
  • Analyze target markets, as assigned, for the Buckingham Fund as well as development and acquisition opportunities.
  • Assemble debt and equity financing packages for development deals.
  • Effectively communicate with brokers, lenders, prospective clients, housing agencies, government agencies, legal counsel as required to perform the above duties.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence and other paperwork on a timely, professional and accurate basis.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures and guidelines are complied with in a professional manner and are demonstrated in all oral and written communications.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
