About The Position

The American Red Cross is seeking a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented Investment Allocation Associate to support the Investment team with their quantitative skills. The investment team manages all investment assets for the American Red Cross. This is a hybrid work position. The Associate of Allocation Services will support the analysis and documentation throughout the investment process, including the framework, investment analyses, portfolio construction, implementation, and monitoring. This role requires creativity and mathematical acumen to utilize, maintain, and enhance the internally developed investment process. As part of the portfolio management function, this role is expected to evolve within the portfolio team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, physics, math or a related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in the use of a personal computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable.
  • Ability to work on a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the investment framework by adapting it to new ideas and changing concepts, tracking advances in portfolio management and analysis tools, and improving IT and manual processes. This includes supporting investment framework documentation.
  • Support investment analysis by tracking and analyzing global macroeconomic conditions and investment valuations across all asset classes. This analysis will be cross-analyzed with investment ideas from banks or managers, and will involve understanding and documenting valuation or economic scenario analysis.
  • Support portfolio construction at the individual strategy, sub-portfolio, and overall portfolio levels, including design and risk analysis. This involves creating and testing various models under specific conditions and selecting the final implementation. The role includes tracking and documenting strategies and models forecasted under various scenarios.
  • Support portfolio implementation by translating model results into specific transactions, designing transition plans, and creating trade orders for third-party execution. The analyst will also support the creation of trades for confirmation.
  • Support portfolio monitoring by designing and tracking performance drivers for strategies, sub-portfolios, and overall portfolios. This includes comparing results to expectations, identifying areas for improvement in attribution analysis or portfolio construction, and analyzing and documenting tracking analysis.
