About The Position

This internship offers the opportunity to gain knowledge of investments, including bonds, stocks, derivatives, and private equities. The intern will process investment transactions within the investment accounting software system, perform treasury functions, and create journal entries in the general ledger. The role involves analyzing investments, particularly mutual funds, and preparing statutory schedules for quarterly and annual filings. Daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations will be completed, along with gaining knowledge of statutory regulations and accounting principles. This position will also enhance communication skills through interaction with other departments and external parties. The intern will perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, finance or economics.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of accounting rules.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Cite examples of self-motivation and proactive personal development.
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt communication styles and successfully articulate technical information to associates as well as management.

Responsibilities

  • Gain knowledge of investments, including bonds, stocks, derivatives, private equities, etc.
