About The Position

Help shape safe, fair and well-reasoned outcomes for children and our people! As Investigative Authority, you’ll be a trusted point of contact for allegations involving child harm and other sensitive workplace matters. Working across People and Culture, you’ll bring sound judgement, procedural fairness and a calm, practical approach to complex cases—supporting leaders to make informed decisions while keeping child safety at the centre of every outcome.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, early childhood education and care, investigations or a related discipline—or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience managing sensitive people matters, investigations, case management or child-safety concerns in a complex organisation.
  • A strong understanding of procedural fairness, confidentiality, risk assessment and relevant child-safe legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge and adapt your approach for different audiences.
  • Sound judgement, resilience and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Current QLD Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
  • Willing to obtain a Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, completed via Geccko platform

Responsibilities

  • Manage the assessment and case management process for allegations, suspicions and major child-safety incidents.
  • Coordinate and support the Safeguarding Panel, presenting complex matters with clear analysis, options and recommendations.
  • Provide oversight of allegations, investigations and risk assessments relating to reportable conduct.
  • Guide leaders through high-risk child protection matters with pragmatic, risk-conscious advice grounded in policy, legislation and procedural fairness.
  • Build capability across the organisation to prevent, identify and respond to concerns using the Look, Do, Tell framework.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case records and identify opportunities to strengthen our child-safe and people practices.
