About The Position

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Licensing – Gaming Commission, the Investigative Assistant provides administrative support to Investigators throughout the Licensing process. This role is also responsible for maintaining the front desk operations and acts as a liaison for all visitors to the Licensing department, including contacting and escorting applicants as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of administrative experience in a professional environment with a focus on data entry, filing, record management and reception required.
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish rapport quickly and communicate well with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must have excellent problem solving, organization, time-management and prioritization skills.
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to gaming license applicants, collects required background documents, updates licensing files, and creates and issues badges.
  • Handles front desk calls and electronic inquiries, answers questions, and updates licensing database with all relevant information.
  • Issues online applications, creates and assigns licensing profiles to Licensing Investigators, collects fees associated with the background process, and updates Human Resources and Access Control with required information.
  • Updates licensing files with approval status, expiration dates, badge pick up information, and all other relevant information pertaining to the processing of a Gaming License.
  • Conducts reviews of licensing database(s) and regulatory documentation to ensure data entry accuracy.
  • Processes and submits Livescan fingerprints to the National Indian Gaming Commission and the Department of Justice Bureau of Gambling Control for all applicants requiring fingerprints. Requests name search verifications for invalid fingerprint submissions when required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
