About The Position

The District Attorney's Office is seeking an organized, motivated individual to provide a variety of technical and administrative support to the Investigations Unit. A person in this position will work with case evidence, manage fleet vehicles, and obtain criminal histories and legal documents necessary for investigations and court proceedings, under the supervision of the Chief Investigator. The District Attorney’s Office follows a blind hiring process. Our office is open Monday -Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There should be no overtime, and employees are eligible to work remotely 1 day per week after a successful probationary period. Requirements

  • Ordering and comparing media and reports to ensure complete and accurate case files.
  • Working with Investigators to prepare cases for trial, including organizing media, maps, and other exhibits for presentation.
  • Supporting Investigators throughout the trial preparation process, including organizing and managing evidence and case materials.
  • Running criminal history checks as needed.
  • Preparing correspondence and written reports, including Vehicle Release Instructions, Child Pornography Destruction documentation, evidence correspondence with law enforcement, Authority to Release District Attorney Evidence forms, certified convictions, and felony DUI reports for Deputy District Attorneys.
  • Assisting in obtaining prior DUI convictions both in and out of state.
  • Assisting Investigators with evidence photography and injury documentation.
  • Supporting Investigators in completing attorney requests related to trial preparation and filing decisions.
  • Assisting with onboarding and system administration tasks, including adding new employees to the Security Awareness Testing system, removing former employees, and completing other duties as assigned by the CCIC Coordinator.
  • Three (3) years' experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
  • Equivalent to an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in criminal justice or a related field required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, NCIC/CCIC certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Orders and compares media and reports to ensure case file completion.
  • Works with Investigators in preparing cases for trial; prepares media, maps, and other pertinent documents for presentation at trial; organizes media and other exhibits as needed.
  • Aids and supports Investigators throughout the trial work-up process.
  • Runs criminal histories as needed.
  • Collects and composes correspondence and provides written reports such as Vehicle Release Instructions, Child Pornography Destruction, evidence correspondence with local law enforcement, Authority to Release District Attorney Evidence, certified convictions, and felony DUI reports to Deputy District Attorneys as needed; assists in obtaining prior DUI convictions both in and out of state.
  • Assists investigators in taking evidence pictures and/or pictures of injuries.
  • Assists Investigators in completing attorney requests for trial prep or filing decisions.
  • Assists with entering new employees into system for Security Awareness Test; removes former employees from system and other tasks as directed by the CCIC coordinator.
