About The Position

The Investigations Practice Coach will provide coaching to all newly hired Social Services Specialists and Social Services Supervisors/Experts assigned to an Investigations or Differential Response Unit of the Division of Children and Family Services. The Investigations Practice Coach will provide coaching focused on the Division of Children and Family Services Policy and Internal Procedures and aligned with the Division’s practice model. The Investigations Practice Coach will work with the Investigations Coaching Coordinator, MidSouth training staff, DCFS staff, University Partnership staff, and other stakeholders to coordinate and facilitate the statewide training and professional development as outlined in the Investigations Practice Coach Guidebook. This position is directly responsible to the Investigations Coaching Coordinator. This is a full-time, annually renewed grant-funded position. Extensive travel is required. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus one (1) year of professional experience with children and families
  • Professional Experience in mentoring, teaching, or training
  • Ability to travel extensively in the state, which will include overnight stays
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights and weekends
  • Possess exemplary public speaking and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use customer service initiatives for clients and the campus community
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet multiple program deadlines, and manage multiple tasks
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications, and Teams
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Ability to maintain a monthly record of contacts
  • Knowledge of the Arkansas Child Welfare System
  • Ability to train others

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
  • Professional Experience with child maltreatment assessments
  • Experience and training in curriculum development and training delivery
  • Professional experience with the Arkansas Division of Children and Family Services

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching of newly hired Social Services Specialists and Social Services Supervisors/Experts assigned to an Investigations or Differential Response Unit in the applicable DCFS area
  • Responsible for field coordination of all training activities in their assigned regional training area, including shadowing home visits and investigations
  • Attend Training of Trainers, DCFS mandatory training, and continuing education workshops when relevant to the position
  • Provide training or assistance with new staff training or continuing education as requested
  • Provide additional training as requested in designated areas
  • Work collaboratively with MidSouth training staff, DCFS staff, University Partnership staff, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication with assigned DCFS area
  • Attend quarterly academic partnership meetings
  • Participate in DCFS workgroups when requested
  • Maintain a monthly record of coaching activities and staff/university partnership contacts
  • Responsible for the timely completion of coaching-related assessments and surveys
  • Maintain entry of timely documentation within two working days of any coaching activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
