The Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Investigations Assistant and make an impact behind the scenes of critical workplace safety investigations. The Investigations Assistant provides specialized administrative support to the Investigations Unit within the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Branch, contributing directly to investigations and prosecutions across the province. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of electronic disclosure files related to fatality and serious incidents, which are submitted to Alberta Justice and the Crown Prosecutor’s Office. This includes assembling comprehensive documentation generated throughout investigations, such as final OHS reports, attachments, and witness statements. You will also support transcription processes, manage and monitor shared folders with external contractors, and track and process Fleet requests. The role coordinates travel arrangements, training requests, and IT accommodations to support team operations. Drawing on your strong understanding of administrative processes, policies, and systems within the investigations environment, you will also provide contract administration support when external specialists are engaged. In addition, you will provide backup support to branch administrative functions and the Business Manager as needed.
