About The Position

Oversees driver and motor vehicle licensing and registration and continues to make services more convenient, efficient and cost-effective. This position is essential, meaning the duties this job performs are critical to the continued operations of the Ohio Department of Public Safety during a public safety emergency. A BCI/FBI fingerprint check, and background check, may be required on all selected applicants. A comparative analysis and/or drug-test may be a requirement of the hiring process. Requirements

2 yrs. investigation exp. with experience corresponding to type of complaints & alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description; AND valid driver's license.
3 yrs. trg. or 3 yrs. exp. as investigator where experience does not correspond with cases/complaints/allegations to be assigned; AND valid driver's license.
Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of the Chief of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles' (BMV) Investigations Section, direct the operation of District Investigations Office & supervise assigned investigators
Assign all cases requiring investigation within the district
Meet with investigators to review cases & to provide guidance &/or assistance
Act as a coordinator & maintain accountability for all cases
Review & analyze all routine reports & complaints & routes to proper source
Assume responsibility for the conduct & performance of all investigations assigned to the district
Develop & implement procedures for the enforcement of motor vehicle laws
