About The Position

The Inventory Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily cycle count activities to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity across raw materials. This role serves as a lead resource for inventory control operations by supporting cycle counters, investigating discrepancies, driving corrective actions, and promoting continuous improvement within warehouse and inventory processes. The Inventory Team Lead works closely with warehouse, production, purchasing, and planning teams to maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system and support operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, materials management, or warehouse operations.
  • Prior leadership, training, or team lead experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in inventory transactions and data entry.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Epicor ERP, SAP, Oracle, or similar inventory management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to read part numbers, units of measure, bills of materials (BOMs), and inventory structures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and lead daily inventory activities with minimal supervision.
  • Forklift certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly cycle count activities in accordance with company policies and inventory schedules.
  • Perform and verify cycle counts of raw materials.
  • Review physical inventory counts against ERP/MRP system data and investigate discrepancies.
  • Analyze inventory variances and lead root cause investigations to identify corrective and preventive actions.
  • Train and support cycle counters and warehouse personnel on inventory procedures, transaction accuracy, and best practices.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy metrics and communicate recurring issues or trends to management.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of counts, adjustments, investigations, and findings.
  • Verify item labeling, storage locations, bin assignments, and material identification accuracy.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, planning, and production teams to ensure accurate material movement and transaction processing.
  • Assist with year-end physical inventories and audit preparation activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control, warehouse organization, and material handling processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, inventory procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for inventory-related questions and escalation support during daily operations.
