Position Summary The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day inventory operations at their assigned Gifthealth facility, either medication inventory at 4343 Equity Drive or supply inventory at 4417 Equity Drive. Reporting to the Inventory Manager, this role directly leads a team of Inventory Specialists, Inbound Specialists, and Warehouse Associates, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, storage, and movement in full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The Inventory Supervisor executes operational plans established by the Inventory Manager, translates site-level goals into daily floor direction, and communicates team performance, staffing status, and emerging issues upward on a consistent basis. This role is the frontline steward of the processes and controls that protect Gifthealth’s patients, partners, and operational reputation at the facility level.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician License (can be obtained on the job)
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations
  • 1 to 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role with direct reports
  • Experience with receiving, cycle counting, reconciliation, and inventory documentation
  • Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations principles, receiving/cycle counting/reconciliation procedures, inventory tracking systems, chain-of-custody and documentation standards, and regulatory and compliance requirements for medication or supply storage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of direct reports
  • Hold team members accountable to established standards and procedures
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and documentation
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in a healthcare, pharmacy, or other regulated environment
  • Experience with pharmaceutical inventory, medication storage, and chain-of-custody requirements
  • Experience using inventory or warehouse management systems
  • Experience training, onboarding, or developing direct reports
  • Knowledge of specialty pharmacy or pharmaceutical distribution operations, DSCSA and pharmaceutical traceability requirements, controlled substance handling and storage protocols, and ERP or WMS platforms

  • Process improvement and workflow optimization at the team level

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct daily inventory operations at the assigned facility; ensure site-level inventory accuracy across all medication or supply stock; monitor workflow efficiency and staffing readiness; proactively identify gaps, discrepancies, and emerging risks and escalate with solutions to the Inventory Manager
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Inventory Specialists, Inbound Specialists, and Warehouse Associates; manage day-to-day performance accountability, scheduling, and adherence to standards; support onboarding and training of new team members; manage a performance improvement process for associates not meeting expectations; identify team members ready for advancement; use lower-volume periods strategically to advance training completion
  • Execute and oversee receiving, cycle counting, and reconciliation processes at the site level; ensure documentation accuracy and completeness in accordance with chain-of-custody and compliance standards; identify discrepancies, determine root cause, and implement corrective action
  • Ensure team adherence to all applicable storage, handling, and regulatory requirements for medication or supply inventory; enforce SOPs and compliance standards at the floor level; serve as the first line of defense against compliance failures before issues escalate
  • Communicate site-level performance, staffing status, and emerging issues to the Inventory Manager on a consistent basis; provide the site-level intelligence that supports cross-facility planning and operational decision-making
