The Inventory Specialist is responsible for executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. This role supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. The specialist champions On-Shelf Availability and is responsible for receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes. They validate and ensure the accuracy of planograms and are responsible for reviewing and coordinating the proper use of reports and system applications that impact the accuracy of front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing. The Inventory Specialist is also responsible for executing and maintaining front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and filing claims for warehouse and vendor discrepancies. In designated stores, as required, this role may open and close the store in the absence of store management, including system start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring the store is ready for business. The role also involves engaging customers, resolving customer issues, and modeling customer service best practices. Operations include executing and coaching team members on inventory management processes, scanning deliveries, managing one-box receiving, and verifying pharmacy shipments. The specialist completes On-Shelf Availability processes, executes disposals, call-ins, and vendor returns, and completes scan outs for subscribed departments. Pharmacy inventory activities, pricing execution, and ordering expense items are also key responsibilities. The role maintains consigned inventory, ensures designated pull & quarantine items are updated, and maintains accurate inventory counts for all areas of the store, including the pharmacy. They ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products and assist in maintaining inventory records. The Inventory Specialist helps prepare for and supports physical inventory activities and keeps counters and shelves clean and well-merchandised. They are knowledgeable of all store systems and equipment and assist and coach the store team on package delivery activities. In designated stores, when serving as the leader on duty, they are responsible for registering sales, completing product returns, and providing customer service at the point of sale. The role requires compliance with all company policies and procedures and maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers. Training and personal development include attending company-based trainings and completing e-learning modules. Communications involve serving as a liaison between management and team members, coaching on inventory systems, and communicating tasks and reporting issues when serving as the leader on duty.
