About The Position

The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure seamless supply chain operations. This position is responsible for monitoring stock levels, coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams, and implementing inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies and optimize stock availability. The Inventory Specialist will analyze inventory data to forecast demand, identify trends, and support decision-making processes that enhance operational efficiency. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain the integrity of inventory systems and support timely order fulfillment. Ultimately, the Inventory Specialist contributes to reducing costs and improving customer satisfaction by ensuring the right products are available at the right time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Proven experience in inventory management or a related field.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills daily to interpret inventory data and forecast future needs, ensuring optimal stock levels.
• Effective communication skills are used to collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to coordinate inventory activities and resolve issues.
• Attention to detail is critical when conducting cycle counts and reconciling inventory records to maintain accuracy.
• Problem-solving skills help the specialist develop and implement process improvements that enhance inventory control and operational efficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
• Knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles.
• Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., CPIM, CSCP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to manage stock replenishment and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and recommend adjustments to inventory levels.
• Implement and improve inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare detailed reports on inventory status, variances, and key performance indicators for management review.
