About The Position

The City of Edinburg is seeking a dedicated Inventory Specialist to oversee the activities and operations of the Systems Division. This role involves performing moderately complex inventory work, including stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory of all materials and equipment. The specialist will maintain the Systems Warehouse and related areas in a clean and safe manner, keep detailed inventory records, prepare purchase orders, and maintain an efficient filing system. They will also maintain an inventory of materials and parts needed for the crews. The position works under general supervision with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Responsibilities include being ready for new challenges, motivating and evaluating department staff, providing training and development, and assisting other divisions within the department as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalency.
Current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
Forklift Certification.

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree, or Class "C" Certification in Distribution or higher from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
One year of experience ensuring sufficient inventory of materials and equipment.

Responsibilities
