About The Position
Michigan Broadband Services is seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our team in Marquette, Michigan. This position reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain and Inventory Management and is responsible for overseeing the ordering, storage, tracking, and distribution of the company’s equipment and supplies. Initial training will take place at our Corporate Office in Carney, MI, before transitioning to the Marquette, MI location.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Accounting, or a related field
- 1-3 years experience in warehousing, logistics, or inventory control
- Basic math skills for calculating percentages, volume, weights, and discrepancies
Responsibilities
- Request quotes from vendors for equipment or materials required to fulfill certain tasks or projects as requested
- Enter purchase order requisitions for approved quotes utilizing our in-house software system
- Receive and process incoming equipment and materials into inventory
- Issue equipment and materials as needed
- Use the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances of our current inventory
- Keep detailed records of equipment placed and material usage
- Utilize our billing software to enter received inventory into the system and track the outgoing inventory
- Strive to improve the use of the company software system to its fullest potential, including implementing the use of MACC Mobile by our technicians
