About The Position

The Inventory Specialist will coordinate with Supply Chain, Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to ensure inventory availability and alignment with operational requirements. This role involves monitoring inventory levels, analyzing data for planning and replenishment, performing cycle counts and audits, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records within the ERP system. The specialist will also generate reports, assist in developing inventory control procedures, support physical inventory activities, and monitor inventory aging to identify excess or slow-moving stock. Collaboration with warehouse personnel and participation in inventory-related projects and system enhancements are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, inventory management, warehouse operations, or materials management.
Strong understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
Experience performing cycle counts, inventory audits, and variance investigations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, LN, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of material planning methodologies, including forecasting, min/max inventory levels, reorder points, and safety stock management.
Manufacturing or distribution environment experience.
Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with Supply Chain, Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to ensure inventory availability and alignment with operational requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and analyze inventory data to support inventory planning and replenishment strategies.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
Investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Review inventory transactions and ensure inventory balances are accurately maintained within the ERP system.
Reconcile inventory variances and process inventory adjustments as necessary.
Maintain accurate inventory records, including product locations, lot tracking, and item identification.
Generate and analyze inventory reports for management review and decision-making.
Assist in the development and execution of inventory control procedures and best practices.
Support annual physical inventory activities and audit preparation.
Evaluate inventory performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Monitor inventory aging and identify excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory.
Collaborate with warehouse personnel to ensure products are properly labeled, stored, and transacted.
Assist with inventory-related projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to identify, analyze, and resolve inventory issues.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management.
Support warehouse and inventory control initiatives as business needs require.
