About The Position

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and control within the warehouse and SAP system. This role is tasked with providing solutions for inventory issues by accurately investigating and processing inaccuracies during daily cycle counts within the warehouse. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate bin level to ERP accuracy. This role requires cross-functional teamwork within the warehouse operations team, supply chain planning, and finance business areas to ensure overall inventory integrity.

  • At least one (1) year of experience in a warehouse environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • All candidates will be required to pass a drug screen and background check to be considered for employment
  • An understanding of OSHA safety rules for warehouse work

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update inventory records in SAP.
  • Perform cycle counts daily to ensure inventory accuracy at the bin level.
  • Investigate the root cause of discrepancies found and apply corrective actions.
  • Generate reports on count accuracy, bin accuracy, empty bins, capacity etc.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouse.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually and/or computer program.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Verify inventory by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Dispose of damaged or defective items or return them to vendors by identified process.
  • Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock
  • Keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items for use by adjusting, repairing, or assembling them as necessary.
  • Support physical inventory audits within company standards.
  • May perform other duties as required.
