About The Position

The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory accuracy, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves using inventory management systems, generating reports, and training warehouse staff on proper inventory handling. The position is often performed in a combination of office and warehouse/distribution center settings and may require standing for extended periods and exposure to varying temperatures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Accellos, Korber, or similar) and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and data analysis skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with formulas, pivot tables, and charts in Excel is a plus.
  • Experience in specific industries (manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, food/pharma, automotive).
  • Experience with barcode scanners, RF guns, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift moderate weights and work in warehouse conditions as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies (e.g., variances between system records and actual stock).
  • Track inventory movements including receipts, transfers, shipments, returns, and adjustments.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports (e.g., aging reports, turnover ratios, accuracy metrics).
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices (FIFO, LIFO, ABC analysis, etc.).
  • Use inventory management systems (WMS, or specialized software) to update records in real-time.
  • Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged inventory and recommend actions (disposal, markdowns, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, AIB, ISO).
  • Train and support warehouse staff on proper inventory handling and documentation.
