About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting inventory control activities within the warehouse. This position monitors inventory transactions, performs cycle counts, investigates discrepancies, receives inbound products, and supports proper inventory rotation and replenishment. The Inventory Control Specialist uses established business processes and systems, including Deacom, to monitor performance, communicate inventory concerns, and identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, receiving processes, and warehouse efficiency.

Ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend practical corrective actions.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in word-processing software, spreadsheet applications, email, and manufacturing or inventory-management systems.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to count, calculate, reconcile, and accurately record inventory quantities.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional employees and departments to resolve inventory and receiving concerns.
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in inventory control, receiving, warehousing, material handling, or a similar role preferred.
Experience working in a manufacturing, food manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
Experience using an enterprise resource planning (ERP), warehouse management, or manufacturing system such as Deacom preferred.

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate a forklift, reach truck, pallet jack, and scissor lift is preferred.

Responsibilities

Leads and executes cycle counting and recount activities (daily, monthly, and yearly) and measured controls for accuracy checks to ensure timely resolution of inventory discrepancies while adhering to company inventory policies.
Investigates inventory variances and generates reports to correct affected SKUs and warehouse locations.
Performs root cause analysis to identify procedural gaps contributing to inventory discrepancies.
Executes and maintains the weekly review and reporting of aging and expiring inventory, ensuring proper product rotation using First In, First Out (FIFO) practices.
Reviews inventory records for accuracy, completeness, compliance with established procedures, and appropriate stocking levels.
Receives inbound raw materials, packaging materials, ingredients, and finished goods by verifying quantities, item numbers, lot numbers, expiration dates, and supporting documentation.
Processes receipts accurately in Deacom and communicates receiving discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
Utilizes Deacom to trace inventory history, investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and system records, and recommend corrective actions to management.
Identifies inefficient inventory control and warehouse processes and recommends improvements to reduce discrepancies, shortages, losses, and stock outages.
Moves and reallocates inventory within the warehouse as necessary to support inventory accuracy, space utilization, cycle counting, and proper FIFO rotation.
Performs additional duties as assigned that are consistent with the scope, level of responsibility, and essential functions of this position in support of departmental and operational objectives.
