About The Position
AMD Distribution is seeking an organized individual who is interested in a long-term role to join our team as an inventory specialist! This role involves inspecting inventory for damage, defects, or spoilage, ensuring adequate stock levels, coordinating deliveries, and preparing shipments. The specialist will implement and maintain inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and minimize costs, generate reports on inventory metrics, and communicate with vendors, managers, and other staff to coordinate inventory activities.
Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the workspace to inspect inventory, access storage areas, and handle materials.
- Ability to lift, carry, or move items typically up to 25–35 pounds, with assistance or mechanical aids available for heavier items.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle inventory, operate office equipment, and work with computer systems.
- Ability to visually inspect products for damage or discrepancies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and supervisors.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods depending on daily tasks.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in an Inventory role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using office equipment and basic computer applications.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Responsibilities
- Inspect inventory for damage, defects, or spoilage, and ensure that stock levels are adequate.
- Coordinate the receipt and storage of incoming deliveries, as well as the preparation and shipping of outgoing orders.
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and minimize costs.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, stockouts, and other relevant metrics.
- Communicate with vendors, managers, and other staff to coordinate inventory activities.
