About The Position

Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the Inventory Specialist/Production Planner will support the Troy site by ensuring adherence to established inventory policies and processes to facilitate cycle count execution, schedule execution, and customer OTD. Additionally, you will execute the master schedule by generating and distributing shop floor packets, implement changes to the schedule as required, and communicate all plans and changes in a timely manner. You will also identify part shortages and implement recovery plans.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse/distribution functions

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly cycle count schedule and ensure results are entered into the system correctly
  • Assist with scrapping material per requests from Operations and Quality
  • Assist with inventory issues related to process issues with disbursement of parts to production jobs. This will include working COGI errors on a daily basis.
  • Assist warehouse drive for a culture of responsibility for ensuring inventory system accuracy
  • Block discrepant material in the system to ensure material remains quarantined
  • Support root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures when metric goals are not met
  • Ensure all required paperwork for inventory is complete
  • Communicate and escalate inventory issues as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional support teams to investigate and resolve inventory variances
  • Provide feedback to internal customers as required
  • Support of bi-annual E&O process and segregation of identified material
  • Perform audits and validation checks as requested
  • Actively involved in resolving materials problems.
  • Demonstrate the use of key business processes and functional concepts necessary to succeed in the role
