This role is for a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful professional to lead shipping, receiving, and inventory responsibilities. The Inventory Specialist, Lead will support the Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Construction groups with inventory coordination, shipping, receiving, and other responsibilities to ensure safe and efficient inventory operations. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills and have experience in inventory/warehousing and freight logistics. This role will help manage warehouse/inventory operations while creating a safe environment, maintaining quality, and minimizing unnecessary costs.

Requirements

3 years experience in leading a team.
Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions.
Experience leading inventory staff, ensuring compliance with procedures, preparing inventory for shipping, and reporting on stock levels to management.
Experience identifying and resolving discrepancies, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to the overall optimization of the supply chain.
Experience overseeing receiving and shipping processes, ensure products are stored properly, and help develop and implement standard operating procedures.
Experience with inspecting incoming and outgoing inventory to maintain quality standards and ensure all procedures comply with safety and company policies.
Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Forklift operator experience.
Knowledge of security/Safety operations and procedures.
Capable of immediately responding to emergencies to provide necessary assistance.
Effective written and oral communications.
Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other areas to achieve goals and objectives with minimum direct supervision.
Work with minimum supervision, be a self-starter, be able to meet goals and deadlines on own initiative.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Smartsheet, MS Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point is a plus
Must maintain a valid state issued driver's license.
Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and to use standard warehouse equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Frequent standing, walking, and extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Lean/Operational Excellence standards and practices (i.e. 5S, Kaizen, etc.)
Knowledge of/ experience using inventory management systems
Knowledge of/experience using financial/accounting system.
Crane Operator / Rigging experience a plus

Responsibilities

Manage all shipping/receiving operations and guarantee inventory integrity through enforcement of inventory management policies.
Enforce labeling stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Oversee the received and counted stock items, arrange dispatching of parts and unbox and separate by designated item number.
Facilitate the storing and placement of items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas as instructed.
Ensure checked parts received. Communicate with shop inventory person to rectify problems, such as damage, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
Lead the pack and unpack of items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
Help record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Work with the safety department to report, repair and replace broken tools.
Responsible for the safe shipping/loading and receiving/unloading of all items utilizing equipment that are manual, motorized, or other in nature.
Operate forklift for uploading and offloading parts.
Operate the crane and rigging as needed.
Effectively communicates with others and can work both independently and on a team in a dynamic environment.
Complete and perform necessary certification (and recertification if necessary) training to utilize equipment as required to perform job function.
Responsible for daily/weekly cleaning of the shop and work area.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
